Nursery Manager

£15.00 - £15.27 hourly

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to lead our small, but steadily growing, friendly nursery in Ashington.

This position offers more than just managing a nursery. It’s about creating a space where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn; where families know they’re in good hands; and where your team enjoys coming to work each day.

You’ll be joining a well-established nursery group with a supportive local team behind you, giving you the freedom to lead while having the support you need to thrive.

What you’ll be doing

As Nursery Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring that we continue to provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment for every child.

You’ll lead by example, spending time with your team, supporting them on the floor, coaching their development, and celebrating their successes. You’ll build positive relationships with parents, collaborate closely with external professionals when necessary, and ensure that safeguarding and children’s wellbeing remain at the heart of everything you do.

Alongside delivering high-quality childcare, you’ll oversee occupancy, budgets, and compliance, making sure the nursery runs smoothly and continues to grow.

We’re looking for someone who...

  • Has a Level 3 Early Years qualification as a minimum
  • Has significant experience working in Early Years, including at least two years in a management role.
  • Has a genuine and easily recognisable passion for giving children the best possible start in life.
  • Enjoys developing and motivating others, helping teams to grow in confidence and ability.
  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Can balance delivering exceptional childcare with the commercial responsibilities of running a successful nursery.
  • Communicates openly, leads with kindness, and isn’t afraid to get involved when needed

What you’ll get in return

In return, you’ll have the chance to lead a nursery where your ideas are valued and your development is nurtured. You’ll work alongside experienced operational leaders who want to see you and your team succeed, with ongoing training and opportunities to continue progressing your career, mind-mapping, sharing ideas, and gaining support from your peers at the weekly management meeting.

Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference every day, not just for the children in your care, but also for their families and the team you lead.
