Purpose of the Role
A Nursery Practitioner (also called an Early Years Practitioner) is responsible for supporting the learning, development, and well‑being of children from birth to five years old. The role ensures children are cared for in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, while following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities
Child Development & Care
Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care.
Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, sharing updates with parents/carers.
Support children with personal care routines (feeding, toileting, hygiene).
Environment & Safety
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
Ensure all safeguarding, health, and safety policies are followed.
