Job Description

Baby Room Leader

Seedling Nursery | Leamington Spa

Could you help our youngest children feel safe, loved and ready to explore?

At Seedling, we believe that babies flourish when they feel secure, understood and valued. We’re looking for a warm, experienced and inspiring Baby Room Leader who shares our belief that nurturing relationships are at the heart of early learning.

Our independent nursery offers a family, home-from-home environment where we take time to get to know every child and their family. We value the little moments: a reassuring cuddle, a shared giggle, a first word and the confidence to try something new.

Your room, your team

You’ll lead a team of five staff members in our Seeds room, caring for an average of 15 babies aged nine to 19 months.

You’ll create a calm, welcoming atmosphere where each baby’s individual routines, interests and stage of development shape their day. From unhurried mealtimes and comforting sleep routines to sensory exploration, stories, songs and outdoor adventures, you’ll help make everyday experiences meaningful.

What you’ll bring to Seedling

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Lead with warmth and confidence, supporting, coaching and encouraging colleagues while modelling excellent practice.

  • Build secure relationships, helping babies form strong attachments and families feel reassured, listened to and involved.

  • Tune into each baby, recognising their cues, respecting their routines and responding sensitively to their emotions.

  • Bring learning to life through thoughtful play, curiosity, movement and rich interactions, with plenty of time to explore.

  • Celebrate individual progress, using observations and conversations with families to understand each child and plan their next steps.

  • Create an inclusive environment, adapting care and experiences so every child can participate and thrive.

  • Take pride in the everyday running of the room, keeping care, safeguarding, communication and organisation at the heart of your leadership.

About you

You’ll have a full and relevant Level 3 early years qualification or above, experience caring for babies, and a sound understanding of child development and the EYFS.

You may already be a room leader, or an experienced practitioner ready to take the next step. What matters to us is your ability to bring a team together, communicate kindly and clearly, and keep children’s wellbeing at the centre of every decision.

You’ll be hands-on, reflective and passionate about giving babies the best possible start—with the patience to repeat a favourite song, the enthusiasm to explore alongside them and the sensitivity to know when they simply need you close.

Why Seedling?

We are a nursery where relationships matter—with our children, our families and each other. Our curriculum nurtures confidence, independence, creativity, communication and curiosity, beginning with the security of feeling that you belong.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to our youngest children and help your team grow in confidence and skill.

Salay: £28,899 - £30,420 (April 27)
Hours: 39 hours per week over 4 days

We’d love to hear what nurturing care means to you.

Seedling Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Appointment will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
