Job Description

Love working with little people? Your next adventure starts here!

Nursery Assistant

Caring Kindergartens | Little moments. Lasting impact.

Big smiles, little discoveries and the chance to make a difference every single day!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend your days exploring, creating, laughing and helping little people discover the world around them?

At Caring Kindergartens, no two days are ever the same! One minute you could be joining a teddy bear's picnic, the next building the tallest tower, splashing in muddy puddles or helping a little one master a skill they've been practising for weeks.

And while there will be plenty of fun, laughter and unforgettable moments along the way, there's something even more rewarding about being part of a child's early years journey: knowing that the care, encouragement and support you give today can help shape their tomorrow.

We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Assistant to join our team at Caring Kindergartens.

You don't need to know everything from day one. What matters is that you enjoy being around children, are keen to learn, bring a positive attitude and want to help create a place where every child feels safe, happy, included and valued.

Why join Caring Kindergartens?

At CK, children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every child deserves the very best start in life, and that our people play a huge part in making that happen.

We're proud to work together as one big team, supporting one another, sharing ideas and creating welcoming environments where children can learn, grow and thrive.

As a Nursery Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make every day count – help children explore, discover new interests and celebrate their achievements.

  • Be part of the magic – join in with play, stories, songs, creative activities and outdoor adventures.

  • Build meaningful relationships – help children feel secure, confident and cared for.

  • Learn as you go – develop your knowledge, skills and confidence alongside experienced Early Years colleagues.

  • Be part of a team – work with people who share your commitment to children's wellbeing and development.

  • Explore your future – gain valuable experience in Early Years and discover opportunities to develop your career.

What will you be doing?

Every day brings something different, but your role will always be about helping children have the best possible nursery experience.

You'll support our practitioners in creating fun, engaging play opportunities, helping children develop their communication, independence, friendships and confidence.

You'll join children in their play, encourage their curiosity, help them explore their surroundings and celebrate the little milestones that mean so much.

You'll help maintain a welcoming, clean and well-organised nursery environment, support children's care routines and mealtimes, and work alongside colleagues to ensure children are safe, happy and well cared for.

You'll also build positive relationships with families and colleagues, treating everyone with kindness, respect and courtesy.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, so you'll be expected to follow our policies and procedures, remain attentive to children's needs and speak up if you have any concerns.

You might be helping a child put on their wellies, comforting them when they need reassurance or cheering them on as they try something new. These may seem like little things, but to a child, they can mean the world.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in working with young children and helping them learn and develop.

  • Is caring, patient, approachable and enthusiastic.

  • Enjoys being part of a team and is willing to support colleagues.

  • Communicates positively with children, families and other team members.

  • Is reliable, responsible and willing to get involved.

  • Understands the importance of keeping children safe and following nursery policies and procedures.

  • Is keen to learn, take guidance on board and develop new skills.

  • Is committed to treating every child as an individual and helping them feel included and valued.

Previous experience in childcare would be an advantage, but a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine passion for working with children are just as important to us.

Whether you've already worked in a nursery, have experience supporting children in another setting or are looking for your first opportunity in Early Years, we'd love to hear from you, provided you meet the requirements of the role.

You'll need to meet our safer recruitment requirements, including satisfactory references and the appropriate DBS checks. All duties and responsibilities will be carried out in line with the applicable Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and our nursery policies.

Ready to start your Early Years adventure?

If you're looking for a role where you can learn new skills, make a difference and be part of a team that cares, Caring Kindergartens could be the place for you.

You don't have to be an expert in everything. You just need to bring your enthusiasm, kindness and willingness to get involved. We'll value the contribution you make as you help our children learn, grow and make wonderful discoveries.

Come and help us make little moments matter.

Apply today and take your first step towards a rewarding career with Caring Kindergartens!

Please note: Appointment is subject to our safer recruitment procedures, including satisfactory references and the required DBS checks.
