Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship – Cherry Tree Day Nursery

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship at Cherry Tree Day Nursery, Portsmouth.

Requirements;

• You must be able to gain a clear DBS
• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Cherry Tree Day Nursery is a new rebranding of what was formerly known as well-respected Alphabet Corner, recently purchased by the same owner as Apple Tree Day Nursery, just up the road! 
The special thing about Cherry Tree is that it has the experience, quality and love from its predecessor AND Apple Tree Day Nursery, both with decades of expertise.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

As a Nursery Apprentice, you will work alongside and support the key members of our nursery team to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting experienced nursery practitioners with the day-to-day care and supervision of children.
• Helping to provide a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for all children.
• Assisting with planned activities that support children’s learning, development and individual interests.
• Supporting children during play, both indoors and outdoors.
• Helping children develop their communication, social and personal skills through positive interactions.
• Assisting with daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, handwashing and sleep routines.
• Supporting the team in maintaining a clean, tidy and well-organised nursery environment.
• Working as part of the team and following guidance from senior members of staff.
• Building positive and respectful relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Observing children’s development and sharing relevant information with key members of the team.
• Following nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality.
• Taking part in training and completing the required learning and development as part of the apprenticeship.
• Developing your knowledge, skills and confidence while working towards your childcare qualification.
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the nursery.

Hours;

• Cherry Tree Day Nursery, is open from 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 35.5 to 37 hours per week
