Monday to Friday | All-year-round nursery | Closed on Bank Holidays

At Shooting Stars Nurseries Kings Norton, we are looking for a passionate and motivated Early Years Room Leader to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional to lead a nursery room, support and develop colleagues, and make a lasting impact on children's learning and development.

As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care and education while creating a positive, engaging environment for children, families and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of your designated nursery room.
  • Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
  • Lead, motivate and support a team of practitioners, apprentices and students.
  • Act as a Key Person and build strong relationships with children and families.
  • Plan and oversee engaging learning opportunities in line with the EYFS.
  • Monitor children's development and support their individual learning journeys.
  • Promote inclusive practice and support children with additional needs.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support quality throughout the nursery.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to deliver exceptional childcare and early education.

Requirements

Essential

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Previous experience as a Room Leader, Team Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, Third in Charge or similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • A proactive and positive approach to supporting and developing colleagues.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
