Nursery Apprentice

WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery Apprentice to join a professional and supportive early years team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a passion for early years education and a desire to support children’s learning and development.

DUTIES

• Support practitioners in delivering the EYFS curriculum.
• Work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting and WMC Training.
• Care for children aged 0–5, including feeding, nappy changing and toileting where required.
• Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities and play.
• Observe, assess and record children’s learning and development.
• Act as a key worker and build positive relationships with children and families.
• Promote children’s wellbeing, inclusion, independence and positive behaviour.
• Ensure safeguarding, health, safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Communicate professionally with parents/carers and colleagues.
• Follow all setting policies and procedures.
• Attend team meetings, training and professional development sessions.
• Support the day-to-day running and organisation of the setting.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties required by the Setting Manager.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience working with children.
• Genuine interest in early years education.
• Willingness to complete a childcare qualification.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting children’s development.
