Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship – The Secret Garden Children's Day Nursery
Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship at The Secret Garden Children's Day Nursery, Tuffley, Gloucester.
Requirements;
- You must be able to gain a clear DBS
- Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them
The Secret Garden Children's Day Nursery School offer two nursery school site in Gloucester in Tuffley and Tredworth. We are able to accommodate all ages from 0-5.
Our site is light and spacious with well thought out garden area.
The Secret Garden Children's Day Nursery Tuffley site is located in the former Gladiator Public House in Tuffley Lane.
The Property has been extensively refurbished to provide 4000sq ft of open plan room all on ground floor.
This setting really feels like a school. Set in 1/2 acre of landscaped grounds with its very own soft play play bus.
Each child at The Secret Garden Nursery is allocated both a primary and a secondary Key person. This is a requirement of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework that ensures each child is taken care of by someone who has an in-depth knowledge of their needs, likes and dislikes.
There are great transport links and a bus stop outside of the setting.
Your duties and responsibilities will include;
- Support: Assist in delivering high-quality care and learning experiences.
- Learn: Develop practical childcare skills, understanding of child development, and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Protect: Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all children.
- Physical Care: Assist with feeding, snack times, dressing, and personal hygiene routines (such as nappy changing or toileting support) under supervision.
- Sleep Routines: Help settle children down for naps and monitor them safely while they sleep.
- Setting Up: Prepare resources, toys, and creative materials for indoor and outdoor play activities.
- Engaging Children: Join in with children's play, reading, singing, and games to encourage their language and social skills.
- Tidying Away: Maintain a clean and organized learning environment by packing away toys and cleaning equipment throughout the day.
- Environment Preparation: Set up inviting indoor and outdoor play spaces before children arrive or during transitions, ensuring resources are clean, accessible, and safe.
- Activity Engagement: Actively join in with play, reading stories, and singing songs to encourage language development, sharing, and social skills.
- Tidying and Resetting: Guide children in packing away toys, and ensure the room is reset, organized, and clean throughout the day to prevent hazards
Hours;
- The Secret Garden Children's Day Nursery is open from 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
- The successful candidate will be required to work 25+ hours per week
