At Patter Place, we’re not your average nursery. We’re a new, boutique childcare setting launching this September in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, and we’re looking for a motivated, warm-hearted Apprentice to join our founding team.

The Patter Place Vision

We aren’t a large "nursery factory." We’re a small, intimate setting inspired by the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches. We believe in natural, child-led play, and our space at the beautiful Stryx JQ is designed to be a calm, creative, and inspiring place for children and for you!

Why become an apprentice with us?

• One-on-One Mentorship: You won't just be a "helper." You will work closely with our lead practitioners, getting hands-on training and real experience that goes beyond the classroom.

• A "Quality over Quantity" Environment: Because we only have a small number of children, you’ll actually get to know every child deeply. You won't be overwhelmed by high numbers.

• Learn the "Why": We don't just follow tasks; we talk about why we play, why we structure our space, and how to support a child’s development properly.

• A Beautiful Workspace: You’ll be working in a fully renovated, creative studio with access to gardens and outdoor play areas.

• Willingness to Learn: You have a passion for child development and are ready to commit to training.

• Reliability: You’re ready to be an active, punctual, and helpful member of a small, close-knit team.

• Creativity: You love the idea of creating play-based learning opportunities (and yes, you’ll get to help run our mud kitchen!).

Your Role:

You’ll support our team in the daily care of our children, help set up engaging play environments, ensure our high hygiene and safety standards are met, and build wonderful, supportive relationships with our families.
