Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level ? Childcare Apprenticeship / Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship at Winton House Private Day Nursery, Cheltenham.

At Winton House Day Nursery, we aim to provide quality childcare and preschool education for children from birth to 5 years, with an emphasis on learning through play, set in a beautiful, homely environment.

Winton House Day Nursery provides a safe, caring environment for children, run by qualified, experienced staff. The nursery is set in a beautiful home close to Hatherley Park, with bright, airy, well-equipped playrooms, and benefits from having a lovely safe, large garden.

We provide a carefully planned and structured environment, full of opportunities for children to experiment and initiate their own learning activities, at their own pace. Each child is valued as an individual, high self-esteem, respect for others, confidence and early independence are all encouraged. Above all, we aim for the children in our care to be happy and safe.

We have three nursery groups: Babies (0-2 years), Toddlers (2-3 years) and Pre-school (3-5 years) 

We have Great transport links, 2/3 bus routes, train stain nearby – near the town centre.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the daily care, learning and development of children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Assist in planning, preparing and delivering age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
• Encourage children to learn through play and support their independence and confidence.
• Observe children's progress and contribute to learning records and observations.
• Help create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors.
• Support children's personal care routines, including nappy changing, toileting, handwashing and mealtimes.
• Supervise children during activities, outdoor play, rest periods and transitions throughout the day.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the nursery.
• Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and equality and diversity.
• Help prepare resources and equipment for activities and tidy away after use.
• Attend training sessions, complete apprenticeship coursework and participate in staff meetings.
• Work effectively as part of a team and seek guidance from senior practitioners when required.
• Promote positive behaviour and support children's emotional wellbeing.
• Report any concerns regarding a child's welfare, health or development in line with safeguarding procedures.

Requirements;

• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours;

• Winton House Private Day Nursery is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week
