Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship - Room Leader – East Harptree Nursery Pre School and Forest School

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship at East Harptree Nursery Pre School and Forest School, East Harptree.

A East Harptree Nursery Pre School and Forest School we understand the significance of play in a child’s development. Through play, children explore the world around them, develop essential skills, and build confidence. Our dedicated team of educators fosters an atmosphere where children are encouraged to ask questions, make discoveries, and think critically.

In September 2022, our nursery found a new home within the East Harptree Village Hall complex. This newly renovated space was meticulously designed with children in mind, featuring underfloor heating and bright, child-accessible areas. Within this setting, we have three distinct rooms catering to different age groups: Babies (under 2s), Toddlers (2/3 year olds), and Pre School (3/4-year-olds). Our outdoor play area, exclusively for the children, includes a covered space, ensuring year-round usability. Additionally, our Pre School children have the opportunity to explore the wonders of nature during our Friday morning Forest School sessions in the picturesque grounds of Harptree Court.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

Role Overview:

As the Preschool Room Lead, you will take responsibility for leading and supporting a team in providing high-quality care and education for children aged 3-5years. You will be expected to foster an environment where children are inspired to explore, learn, and develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the daily activities in the Preschool room, ensuring that all children are supported in their individual learning and development.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate learning activities that promote creativity, curiosity, and independence.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for both children and staff.
  • Monitor children’s progress and development.
  • Provide guidance and support to a team of Early Years Practitioners, ensuring that everyone is working together to meet the needs of the children.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers, keeping them updated on their child’s development.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and senior leaders to ensure the delivery of a high-quality early years education.

Requirements;

  • A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working in an early years setting, ideally in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and child development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 
  • Must have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent

Hours;

  • East Harptree Nursery Pre School and Forest School is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
  • The successful candidate will be required to work 30 - 40 hours per week
