Level 1 Childcare Qualification

Are you aged 16-18 and looking to start a Career in Childcare?

Shoots Training are offering a FREE Level 1 Childcare course.

This course is based at Dell Cottage Nursery, Christchurch. However, we do offer Level 1 Childcare course in many other Nurseries across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, West Sussex and many more. If you are looking for another location, please apply and we can discuss the options available.

ABOUT THE NURSERY

Children of the ages 2-5 years, occupy the entire ground floor and have free flow throughout the rooms and outdoors. Each room is painted a different colour; Purple Room dedicated to sensory play, Blue Room for imaginative play with dressing up, Messy Room for art & craft activities, a large Yellow Room which leads out onto a beautiful patio garden and a Green Room for play.

Lastly, we have use of the beautiful, large garden at the front of the property. Our gardens are designed to bring the indoors-out, with access to painting, craft, messy play, books, water play, planting and so much more. We encourage the children to learn about the outdoor environment and motivate the children.

Children of the ages 2 years and under, have use of the entire top floor of the building, which comprises of; Purple Room dedicated to play, Messy Room for art and craft activities and two sleep rooms. They also have their own designated garden space, which has been newly refurbed with soft AstroTurf and modern summer house building. Grow their own plants, explore insects etc.

This is a position that is covering Maternity, Rachel has confirmed me that any successful person taken in will be able to remain in the position for the team of the apprenticeship, with a view to remaining in the setting sharing the role. A conversation during the term of the post will be had on how this will look after the apprenticeship is completed.

ABOUT THE COURSE

This Study Programme is designed to give you an introduction into Childcare providing you with quality work experience and practical, Tutor led workshops/1:1 sessions as well as some online learning. A typical week consists of two study days’ and three days’ work experience.

We can cater for all individual needs and design the programme to suit you as an individual. We also offer Maths and English Functional skills if required.

We have other work placements in the area available.

A free DBS is provided, and work experience set up for you, local to where you live. We also offer Bursary payments if eligible and there are no entry requirements for this course. Uniform is provided along with any resources you may need.

This course has fantastic success rates and progression onto Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeships.
