The vision of Kinderland Day Nursery is to provide an environment where children are happy, stimulated, safe and healthy. We are based in Croydon, Greater London and are a family run Nursery our South Croydon site has been open since 1995 and we opened our sister site in Central in January 2025. We have a lovely building and fantastic resources but truly believe that our staff are the best resource and make the biggest difference in our children's lives!
We are looking for a dynamic, kind, caring and passionate Deputy Manager to join our lovely, well-established private day nursery. The role is office based but we would be looking for someone who is happy to jump into the room whenever necessary. We would want our New Deputy to bring with them creative new ideas but also be keen to learn from our almost 30 years of experience as a successful Day Nursery. Purpose of post:
To be considered for the Deputy Manager role you must have the minimum of a relevant Level 3 childcare qualification, good knowledge of child development and leadership experience but also..

The role is Monday - Friday working shifts (43.75 hours p/w)

The nearest tram stops are George Street Tram Stop, Wellesley Road Tram Stop and East Croydon Tram Stop. Designated Safeguarding Lead
We have named persons within the nursery who take lead responsibility for safeguarding and
co-ordinate child protection and welfare issues, known as the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL), there is always at least one designated person on duty during the opening hours of the setting.
All applicants should be aware that a huge part of the role is ensuring children are continuously safeguarded from any harm. Any job offers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, thorough referencing, an induction programme, and 3 months’ probation period. All successful candidates will be given lots of training upon starting their role.
The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website. Please detail any criminal convictions except those 'spent', or otherwise ‘protected’, under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you have none, please state.
