Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Little Buttons Day Nursery

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Little Buttons Day Nursery, Luton.

Little Buttons is an Ofsted registered nursery on the outskirts of Luton, set in a converted barn. It is based just over the border in Hertfordshire, surrounded by fields and countryside. The nursery opened in 2008 by the same manager who is running the nursery today.
There are currently 15 members of staff and are all paediatric first aid qualified. There is also a full time cook, who provides nutritious home cooked meals.
Little Buttons is open 7.30 - 18.30 all year around, only closing for bank holidays. The nursery offers flexible government funding between the hours of 7.30 - 17.30 including the introduction of the new 2 year old funding.

Little Buttons has 4 rooms, pre-school / 2.5-3’s / under 2’s and over 2’s. They follow EYFS and have French teachers and music teachers.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

Key Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning and development in line with EYFS.
• Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
• Always follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
• Support children with personal care routines.
• Observe and report on children’s progress to key staff.
• Work effectively as part of the nursery team.
• Build positive relationships with children and parents/carers.
• Complete apprenticeship coursework and training requirements.

About you

• Genuine interest in working with children aged 0–5.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification.
• Basic English and maths skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements;

• Must be able to drive or have consistent transport  (no public transport local)
• You must be able to gain a clear DBS
• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours;

• Little Buttons is open from 7:30am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week
