Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Cherry Tree Montessori
Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Cherry Tree Montessori, Ringwood.
Cherry Tree Montessori provide quality care for children from birth to the age of 8 years, as well as offering a holiday club for school holidays and inset days for children up to 8 years.
Montessori is an approach to early education that focuses on the immense capacity of children to absorb information when given the freedom and independence to learn at their own pace.
What makes the Montessori approach different, and what makes it work so well, is that it is based on a deep understanding of the way children learn through choosing, trying and doing themselves. Specially developed materials in an environment prepared for the children, with close observation and guidance by Montessori teachers, leads to a powerful, confidence-building approach to learning.
Cherry Tree Montessori nursery is located in Ashley Heath about 3 miles from Ringwood and about ½ mile from St Ives. The nursery is on the smallest High Street in the country in a grade 2 listed building with around ½ acre of well laid out gardens. The natural surroundings allow the children to play and explore safely – we even have an outside learning area. The nursery also provides off road parking for parents to drop off and pick up their children safely.
Our approach to learning is a hybrid approach, following Maria Montessori’s philosophy of encouraging children to develop individually in a happy, friendly and caring environment. We are also getting accreditation for becoming a Curiosity Approach setting an environment that fosters natural curiosity and creativity. In addition to this we provide Forest School sessions for our older children. In July 2023 were obtained a GOOD Ofsted rating.
We are a small, close-knit nursery, providing a home-from-home environment and are OFSTED registered for up to 24 children. We accept local authority funding for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old, and accept childcare vouchers. We are open all year, from 8.00am to 5.00pm excluding Bank Holidays and a period of closure over the Christmas time. Children are welcomed into the nursery on a full-time, part-time, sessional or term-time basis. We also have a number of holiday club spaces for 5-8 years on all school holidays.
We are also pleased to announce that we have been winners of a National Award- the Youth Sport Trust award for Outstanding Early Years Physical Literacy Practice Award in March 2023. We believe that it’s important for children to stay active and learning through physical activity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Apprentice to join our setting in Ashley Heath.
We have recently received a good grade in our Ofsted inspection.
The ideal candidate will be kind, caring and have a passion to work with children in the early years.
The key areas of responsibilities are.
- Caring for and providing a stimulating learning environment for children.
- Effectively communicating with parents, carers, staff and other professionals.
- Engaging in reflective practice and implementing new effective strategies for teaching and learning.
- Being aware of and implementing strategies to safeguard all children.
- Ability to independently manage observation, assessment and planning cycle for children.
The successful candidate will be supported throughout their apprenticeship by a great team of knowledgeable and highly skilled practitioners.

Requirements;
- A Level 2 Childcare qualification would be desirable
- You must be able to gain a clear DBS
- GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent
Hours;
- Cherry Tree Montessori is open from 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday
- The successful candidate will be required to work 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday
