Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Steeple Aston Pre-School.

A little bit about about Steeple Aston Pre-school

Creative area, main room

This area is fully accessible to the children where they can select materials and items from the drawers. Using their own skills which they acquire to be imaginative and creative, using their own self-expression. It helps them emotionally and socially, developing their cognitive, speaking and listening capabilities which is a vital part of their childhood and development.

Computer area and the main room

The main room is where the computer is located. The computer maybe on for a short period of time in the morning as one of the activities the children can select to use it if they wish.

Music basket, main room

Musical instruments are so much fun, whilst children are banging repeatedly and making as much noise as they can, they have no idea of their learning from this. During organised activities playing instruments promote listening and attention skills, great hand eye coordination, vocalising and singing, exploring and playing and helps children to become focused and stay involved.

The outdoor area

The outdoor area is an open and constantly changing environment for children. It provides different play opportunities with the specific features and stimulus that can’t always be replicated inside.

The majority of our day takes place in our great outdoor area where children can experiment, think creatively, solve problems, cooperate with one another, use their imagination and the opportunity for unstructured play is endless.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

• We're looking for a friendly, caring, and experienced early years practitioner to join our preschool team
• Someone with experience with working in a early years setting, that has a warm, nurturing, and fun approach, and will be a key member for up to 7 children
• Someone who is a great team player
• The candidate will support with supervising children, and help with all personal care including hand washing and toileting
• Will help with planning and implementing the day’s activities, and observe and document the children’s progress,
• Building strong relationships with the children and the families
• Will need to understand safeguarding and keeping children safe knowledge
• Will support with learn through play, everything is built around the around children’s interest, no strict curriculum, flexible in their learning
• You will need have the ability to their think on your toes, although there’s a daily routine, there is an element of in the moment planning, learning about the role

Requirements;

• A Level 2 Childcare qualification is essential 
• At least 1 years experience in a nursery setting
• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours;

• Steeple Aston Pre-School is open from 8:15am – 3:15pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
• The successful candidate will be required to work 21 hours per week (potential for these hours to increase after Easter)
