Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Tiny Cubs Nursery (Term Time Only)

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Tiny Cubs Nursery, Luton.

Tiny Cubs Nursery are a friendly day care Nursery based in Luton, providing excellent childcare with great facilities. 

Tiny Cubs Nursery is an OFSTED registered childcare provider since January 2020. We are located in Farley Hill, North Drift Way, Luton LU15JG and offer high quality childcare and learning for local children. We have created a safe and stimulating environment to ensure children of all faiths can access early education and have an amazing time learning through play.

We offer sessional care and learning for 39 weeks a year from 8:30am to 3:30pm. We offer FREE 15-hours for funded 2-year olds and FREE 15-hours for all 3 to 4-year olds in Luton and FREE 30-hours. All our staff are fully qualified and have many years’ experience in delivering childcare and helping children learn and develop.

We have dedicated learning areas in the centre, with a colourful range of modern facilities and outdoor play.

The nursery is open to children of all faiths, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We recognise that the key to good quality childcare and early education is the quality, qualifications, and ratios of staff.

All the staff at Tiny Cubs Nursery are either fully qualified or in training with the full support of senior staff. In addition, all staff are offered, as part of their professional development, further training opportunities with us. All our staff are DBS cleared and safe to work with children.

We have 1 room main hall and care for children between the age of  2 years - 5 years.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Child Development & Learning
  • Promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children aged 0-5
  • Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress to inform planning and support individual needs
  • Safeguarding & Child Welfare
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all children
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with statutory guidance
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection policies
  • Inclusion & Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Support children with additional needs, ensuring inclusive access to learning opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to implement tailored support strategies
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive practices throughout the setting
  • Partnership with Parents & Carers
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families and carers
  • Communicate regularly regarding children’s development, achievements, and well-being
  • Encourage parental involvement in the learning process and setting activities
  • Professional Conduct & Team Collaboration
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and professional environment
  • Mentor and support junior staff and apprentices
  • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
  • Administrative & Organisational Duties
  • Maintain accurate records, including observations, assessments, and safeguarding documentation
  • Support the day-to-day organisation of the setting, including routines, transitions, and events
  • Uphold all policies, procedures, and standards set by the organisation and regulatory bodies

Requirements;

  • A Level 2 Childcare qualification is essential
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience 
  • Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Hours;

  • Tiny Cubs Nursery is open from 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
  • The successful candidate will be required to work 30 hours per week
