Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Apple Tree Day Nursery

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship at Apple Tree Day Nursery, Portsmouth.

Apple Tree Day Nursery is a family run business. We opened our doors back in 2006! We are passionate about providing children a stimulating, safe and welcoming environment to play and learn in.

As a boutique nursery school your children will have the same key worker throughout the academic year until it is time for them to graduate up to the next, which is great for their development. Plus they will see the same faces every day, which is crucial for their learning within these first few years.

Staff are qualified, DBS checked, first aid trained, with up-to-date safeguarding and food hygiene training.

If your little ones are happy and confident on arrival that’s fantastic! If there are tears and worries, we will be there to ease them gently into the day. We strive to make the children feel happy and confident all the time they are with us. We really want your children to enjoy their time with us and have lots of fun, we promote outstanding relationships including plenty of hugs when needed!

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and confident Room Leader to join our nursery team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about Early Years and ready to take the next step in their career.

As our Room Leader, you will take responsibility for leading a room and managing two members of staff, ensuring the highest standard of care and education for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Manage Your Room

  • Oversee daily room operations and lead a team of two practitioners
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate activities that support the 7 Areas of Learning within the EYFS
  • Create a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for all children

Care Routines & Practical Duties

  • Carry out all aspects of personal care, including toileting, nappy changing and hygiene routines
  • Support children during meal and snack times

Parent Partnerships

  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Provide daily feedback on children’s routines, learning and development

Record Keeping & Child Development

  • Maintain up-to-date children’s records, observations and learning journeys
  • Support the ongoing assessment and tracking of children’s progress

Requirements;

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential
  • Experience working in a nursery or Early Years setting
  • GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent 
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS
  • Confident leading a small team
  • Warm, positive and committed to high-quality childcare

Hours;

  • Apple Tree Day Nursery is open from 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
  • The successful candidate will be required to work 35 - 40 hours per week
