Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Little Xplorers Day Nursery

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Little Xplorers Day Nursery.

The brand new family run nursery, which is situated in Roe Green Park, was established in 2015 and caters for up to 55 children between the ages of 3 months to five years old, offering both full-day and AM or PM enrolment between 7.45am-6.00pm. It will be open for 51 weeks of the year, with the exception of bank holidays and one week during Christmas and New Year.

The nursery is on two floors, offering four rooms, plus an I.T. area designed especially for the children.  The children are encouraged to explore and investigate all rooms, which offer a variety of experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The Nursery also benefits from a large and well equipped outdoor area, which offers the children opportunity to learn and have fun outdoors. The nursery also benefits from being situated in a large park with children's exercise and play equipment within easy reach.

The Nursery operates by its ethos of ‘Imagine, Play, Create, and Learn’ which encourages children to combine both structured learning experiences and their natural inclination to play, explore and question, to develop into young boys and girls, ready for the challenges that growing up will bring. 

The setting has 3 rooms- babies 6 months-2 years / toddlers 2-3 years / pre-school 3-5 years

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

• Be an inspiring practitioner with a sound knowledge of child development.
• Be proficient in leading the delivery of all aspects of teaching and learning.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Display a caring and nurturing attitude towards the children in your care
• Act as designated key person for an allocated number of children.
• To observe, plan and assess children’s learning and development within the EYFS framework.
• Develop positive partnership with parents.

Requirements;

• A Level 2 Childcare qualification is essential 
• You must be able to gain a clear DBS
• Passionate about childcare
• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent 

Hours;

• Little Xplorers Day Nursery is open from 7:45am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week term time only
