At The Hackney Day Nursery, we’re looking for a dedicated and inspiring Deputy Manager to help lead our vibrant, nurturing setting where children thrive and staff feel truly valued.
Hackney is a lovely setting based in East London, just up the road from London Field train station. Currently rated Ofsted Good, Hackney is a nursery that takes over three railway arches and boasts a 5000sqft outdoor space, complete with age-appropriate equipment and a forest school area.

Your Role as Deputy Manager:
As a key leader in our nursery, you’ll:
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of every child, parent, and team member
- Support the delivery of outstanding EYFS practice across all rooms
- Manage medication and care plans with diligence and compassion
- Inspire your team with creativity, consistency, and a positive attitude
- Maintain accurate records using the EyMan system
- Step up as a role model, mentor, and motivator for your colleagues
- Help drive continuous improvement and prepare for Ofsted inspections
What You’ll Bring:
- Level 3 Childcare Qualification – essential
- Leadership experience in an early year setting – essential
- 1+ year in Early Years – essential
- Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding – essential
- Level 5 qualification in Childcare or Leadership – desirable
- Experience achieving Good or Outstanding in Ofsted – desirable
