Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship - The Bramble Day Nursery

Shoots Training are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join The Bramble Day Nursery at their St Just setting as a Level 3 Apprentice, to work in our Rising 3's class.

Our nursery is a vibrant, inspiring and child-centred setting with exciting activities enabling your child to explore and learn.  At The Bramble, children are encouraged to learn through their play and become confident and independent.

In ourdaily routine free-flow play is offered as well as activities guided by the staff. We have a wonderful outside area with a climbing frame, seating, sand tray, mud kitchen, poly tunnel and playhouse.

Our aim is for your child to build a good relationship with our dedicated staff.  All children are given a designated key worker who keeps parents informed of progress and development. Your child’s care and experiences will naturally change as they transition from the baby room to the nursery room.

The nursery cares for children from birth to 5 years, as well as offering after- school activities for primary school children. We are located on the campus  of Cape Cornwall School, across the road from St Just  Primary School and we have good liaison relationship with both schools.

Your duties and Responsibilities will include;

• If early, set up the room, welcome in the children and assist with breakfast
• From 09:00 welcome greet parents
• Signing in the children
• Set up and implement the morning activities
• Prepare snacks and assist with this
• Playing, reading and singing in groups
• Lead the group activities  
• Afternoon follows the same structure Involved with the planning
• Undertake all aspects of personal care
• Allocation of key children
• Undertale the observations and liaising with parents
• Will be involved with parents evening
• And writing up end of term assessments

Requirements; 

• Level 2 qualification is desirable
• Must have experience in a similar role
• Good standard of written and spoken English
• You must be able to gain a clear DBS 
• You ideally will have GCSE Grades A*-C in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills

Hours;

• The Bramble is open from 08.00am - 16.30pm Monday to Friday
• Working hours will be a minimum of 30 hours per week and shift patterns will be discussed
