Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship - Level 5 - EarlyBirds Day Nursery, Woodville

Shoots Training are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join EarlyBirds NurseryWoodville, as a Deputy Manager.

Established in 2020, EarlyBirds Day Nursery offers all year-round childcare and is located in the village of Fremington which is situated between the towns of Barnstaple and Bideford in beautiful North Devon.

​We welcome children from ages 0-11, here your little ones will learn and play in a warm happy environment, cared for by our friendly, enthusiastic and fully qualified team.

​Our nursery stands in its own grounds with ample outdoor areas for learning and play, along with onsite parking facilities and easy access.

​Internally the setting is on ground level and has 3 spacious educational rooms:

Little Ducklings for 0-2 years, Flamingos for 2 years, Owlets for 2.5 years and Wise owls for 3+ years.

We also have a cosy sleep room, cooking area and ample kiddie friendly toilet facilities, and offer morning and afternoon school drop off and collection with our two local primary schools: Fremington and Instow. For complete 'wrap around' care.

Your roles and responsibilities will include;

• Manage and run the daily operation of the nursery
• Help manage the training and mentoring for the team of practitioners
• Completing appraisals and look at training needs of the team
• Manager the staff rota for the setting and managing holiday requests
• You will be hands on with mealtimes and the personal care of the children in your care.
• Planning and supporting children with play and their education.
• Planning the daily activities.
• Work in partnership with extern
• Agencies and keep the parents updated with the children’s progress, along with updating the children’s learning journals regularly.
• Attend parent’s evenings and team meetings.

Hours;

• EarlyBirds Day Nursery Woodville are open between the hours of 07.00-18.00 Monday-Friday
• Working hours will be 35-40 hours per week 
• Shift patterns and salary would be discussed at interview and will depend on experience

Additional Requirements;

• Level 3 childcare qualification is essential
• Knowledge of EYFS
• GSCE in English and Maths or equivalent
• Must have experience in a similar role where you have managed a small team and ran the daily operation of the setting
