Nursery Lunch cover/Kitchen Assistant

36.15 hours per week

10.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday

Salary ranging from £10.00 - £12.21 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

Established in 1997, Woodberry Fawley is a purpose-built nursery set in a stunning location on the edge of the New Forest. Roles and responsibilities:

• Assisting with lunchtime and end of day supervision across all age groups.
• Providing lunch cover for all age groups and preparing and serving a nutritious tea.
• Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment, adhering to internal and external requirements; complete the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist each month, and ensure that the Cleaning Schedule is complete and adhered to, being regularly updated and displayed prominently in the kitchen.
• Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stock room.
• Observing cooking times and correct temperatures.
• Helping with light household tasks such as washing and light cleaning.
• Supervise and engage children during lunchtime, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, promoting healthy eating habits.
• Provide a calm and nurturing atmosphere for children as they wind down before returning to play and learning activities.
• Work as part of a friendly and supportive team to create a positive nursery environmen

Kitchen Assistant skills and requirements :

• Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements around food allergies - essential
• Sound Knowledge of COSHH - essential
• Experience and qualified to the appropriate level in any role which involves cooking in domestic or commercial property - essential
• Fluent in written and spoken English at GCSE grade C (or equivalent) - essential
• Experienced and passionate about any role that involves cooking for young children - desirable
