Job Description

Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship - Duchess Nursery Abingdon

Aspire Training Team are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Duchess Nursery Abingdon as a Qualified Childcare Early Years Practitioner

About Us:
At Duchess Nursery Abingdon, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. We are a warm homely, oriented feel nursery providing care for 0-5year olds.

Our nursery has a warm family orientated atmosphere, with a homely feel and 3 individual rooms to cater for all of the children’s needs, to help them to flourish and to develop in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. We have two lovely garden areas for playing and exploring as well as digging and growing, building our children’s physical confidence and environmental knowledge and allowing for outdoor creativity.

We have a dedicated and passionate staff team whose priority is to ensure a safe and secure environment, to build good relationships with both our children and parents and to support the children to achieve, ready for ‘big school’ ahead.

We recognise the importance of ensuring a child feels happy, secure and welcome at our Duchess Nursery from the very start so offer a cosy environment and a smooth settling in process. When your child starts nursery, we initially offer three settling sessions in order to fully prepare you and your child for the nursery environment.  Each child is allocated a key person who is instrumental in this process. We feel this is an important part of helping our families to feel relaxed and ready for their time at Duchess Nursery.

We work closely with each child and their family to give the child the reassurance to feel safe and cared for, ensuring they are happy, secure and making progress but also to act as the first communication point for parents. They build a genuine bond with the family, developing a special relationship that always fosters the best interests of their child.

As an Early Years Practitioner, you’ll be at the heart of our nursery, creating magical moments every day for the children in your care. You’ll work alongside a friendly, enthusiastic team, supporting the development of young minds and ensuring that every child’s day is filled with fun, laughter, and learning. From planning exciting activities to watching the children grow and achieve, every day will be an adventure!

  • Encouraging the development of children’s social, emotional, and intellectual skills through play-based learning.
  • Keeping the nursery environment vibrant, clean, and safe, ready for the day’s adventures!
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Experience working in a childcare setting – we want you to bring your knowledge and ideas to the table!
  • A love for creative, hands-on activities that engage and inspire children.
