This role is for our Apricot Nursery in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be an excellent Early Years Educator who inspires and motivates children in their play, and recognises the power of play-based learning. We are looking for someone who has an ability to work as part of a team and support in the development of all of our children. They must also have the ability to nurture strong and open relationships with staff, children and families to raise aspiration and improve achievement.

Your role would be to support the aims and objectives of the nursery and assist the management team in the organisation of a high quality establishment for children from birth to 5 years. You will work under the direction of the Manager and Deputy, and deputise for them as and when required. You must be capable of leading a team of professional workers and ensure good practice at all times. You will assist with the planning and organisation of the nursery as a whole, ensuring quality is maintained in accordance with nursery procedures. This role will be room based, with some office based duties as needed.

You will:

  • Work well as a member of a team and act as a good role model, demonstrating the policies and procedures expected within our environment
  • Provide high standards of care and education as a Early Years Educator
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the children
  • Communicate effectively and professionally
  • Have a working knowledge of the EYFS, planning and assessment systems and take an active role ensuring the Safeguarding and Health and Safety of all the children and staff you work with
  • Be excited to be part of a journey of reflection and development, using their ideas and experience to grow the nursery provision
  • Recognise the importance of supporting team development and staff wellbeing, as a leader

Experience in a Nursery provision as a leader is essential.
