Chestnut House Kindergarten 

Level 3 Practitioner - Part Time -  24 hours (3 Days) per week

Salary: £14,926.08 per annum 

Level 3 Childcare Qualification - Essential

The opportunity to come and join the well established team at Chestnut House Kindergarten on a part time basis. In this role, you will work 24 hours a week across three days. As a Level 3 Practitioner you will be responsible for implementing daily activities and planning based on the children’s interests and developmental milestones. Each day offers new and exciting opportunities, as you’ll be fostering awe and wonder in the children’s lives while building strong relationships with both the children and their families.

About Chestnut House Kindergarten

Chestnut House are a 65 place setting made up of 8 cosy welcoming rooms across the 0-5 year old age grooup. Our staff pride themselves on parent partnerships and working togther with children and families to create exciting ativities and opportunities. At the nursery we have a pet tortoise who joined us last year and is a firm favourite with the children, parents and staff!

Nursery Practitioner main duties and responsibilities*:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
  • Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
  • Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.
  • Children's emotional well-being is given unquestionable priority.

Requirements and skills:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification – essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
  • Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
