Deputy Manager 

40 hours    |    Permanent      |   Salary: £28,392 per annum 

Chestnut House Kindergarten are seeking a Deputy Manager to join them on a permanent basis,

This would be a great opportunity for a current Deputy Manager or a highly experienced room leader or third in charge to step up into a Deputy Manager role. As the Deputy Manager, you will be working closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day running, and quality of the setting ensuring high qualities activities and providing exemplary care to our children. The Ideal candidate will have some leadership experience and the drive to make a difference every day.

About Chestnut House Kindergarten

Chestnut House are a 65 place setting made up of 8 cosy welcoming rooms across the 0-5 year old age grooup. Our staff pride themselves on parent partnerships and working togther with children and families to create exciting ativities and opportunities. At the nursery we have a pet tortoise who joined us last year and is a firm favourite with the children, parents and staff!

Within this role, you will:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
  • Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
  • Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
  • Inspire staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with aim to achieve outstanding practice.
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

For this role, you will need:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
  • Leadership experience - Essential
  • Over 1 years’ experience of working in Early Years - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Over 1 years’ experience of working in a management position - Desirable.
  • Level 5 qualification in Childcare and/or Management and Leadership - Desirable
  • Experience of successfully passing an Ofsted inspection to good or outstanding - Desirable
