Job role description for Nursery Practitioner:

  • Provide high-quality care and education for children, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support their development in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines and conducting regular risk assessments to ensure the well-being of the children.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, keeping detailed records and reporting to parents and senior staff to support individual learning plans.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress, and work collaboratively with the nursery team to ensure consistent care and communication.

 

As a Nursery Practitioner you will have:

  • A level 3 or above childcare qualification
  • A passion for children’s education and care, and a commitment to inclusivity
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • An ability to safeguard and protect children
