Part time Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse

Job Description

SEN PRACTITIONERS REQUIRED

We are Grow Learn Play Project CIC. We are looking for a dedicated person to join our team. We pride ourselves on a lively, fun environment to work in and are committed to staff training and where possible, progression with our organisation.

We run a nursery and community support program from the East Street Centre at Calder Close. We care for children aged 0-pre-school in our main nursery and school age to 11 in our playscheme. We are a not for profit organisation meaning that we reinvest any profits arising from the nursery back into our provision, staff training and support and growing our organisation. We have four well maintained and resourced rooms plus extensive gardens with allotment, forest school, sand pits and play equipment and outdoor classrooms encouraging a wide range of activities and experiences. We have videos on our website www.glpp.uk that will give you a virtual walkaround.

We are currently looking for an enthsiastic individual keen to work with children with special educational and emotional needs. You may be Qualified to Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare or have had some personal experience relevant to such a role. The majority of our children cared for by our Nurture team are on the autistic spectrum although this is not the only condition we encounter. We have a specialised team dedicated to the one to one care of these children. This can be a flexible role hours wise, and could possibly be done as a term time only role. We tailor applications for child places to staff hours so working together to find the right combination of hours for the parent and staff member is possible. We work between the hours of 8-4 and you may also be asked to cover one 4-6 session per week in general numbers. This could be considered as a permanent position or on a fixed term contract (one academic year at a time)

The right candidate will be passionate about working with children with additional needs, self-motivated, have the ability to self-manage responsibilities and have an enthusiastic approach to their work with ideally English and Math’s grade C or equivalent.

You will be working alongside other qualified members of staff in a friendly and supportive setting.

We offer:

Competitive salary

Holiday entitlement starting at 33 days per year rising to 38 days after 5 years service (pro-rata) (includes bank holidays and closure between Christmas and New Year)

Further on the job training

Uniform provided including outdoor wear (coat, wellies, over trousers)

Company Sick pay after three days (following qualifying period).

NEST Pension subject to auto-enrolment rules.

Reward and Wellbeing Program

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.

We are an equal opportunities provider and comply with all relevant legislation. Our policies are available on our website.

Our interview process is to invite candidates for an informal interview and a short time spent in one of our childcare rooms, if invited to second interview we ask that you provide proof of qualification, a copy of your current clear DBS check and two employment based referees.

A clear enhanced DBS check is a requirement of any offer of employment with us.
