Job Role: SEN 1:1 Support 

Hours: 15 hours per week, working 8am - 1pm Monday, Thursday, Friday 

Salary: From £8,923.20 to £9,313.20 per annum depending on qualification level

SEN Experience - essential

Level 2 / Level 3 Childcare Qualification - desirable but will accept unqualified applicants with experience

Are you enthusiastic about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and skilled at developing creative strategies to enhance understanding? Do you want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families? Flitwick Day Nursery is offering a the opportunity to join our team in a permanent part-time role.

We are seeking a SEN 1:1 to join the team to support a child in the pre-school room. He is very settled and looking for someone who can come and build bonds to support with non verbal communication and day to day within the room. 

Within this role you will support and promote their individual development with lots of sensory play and regulating activities whilst encouraging and supporting daily routine & safety, working closely with the nursery SENCo, childrens families and any other outside agencies to promote the best outcomes for the child.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery, and promote these daily in every routine
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the day, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and families
  • Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures

Requirements and skills:

  • Full and relevant Level 2 / Level 3 childcare qualification - desirable
  • SEN Experience - essential
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
  • Experience working with SEN children - essential
  • Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
