The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to complete a Team Leader / Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship at Jack and Jill Preschool, Bristol
Our Early Years team leader or supervisor apprenticeship has been designed by sector experts to help individuals that have gained their EYE and are looking to progress into a leadership role
We are a unique Pre-school who have been providing high quality childcare in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol for over 30 years.
We have an established team of professional Early Years Practitioners who have been providing ‘Outstanding’ learning and development opportunities for 0 to 5 year olds through play and structured activities.
We aim to provide high quality learning experiences through play in a safe, secure and stimulating environment within the framework of the EYFS, working towards ‘school readiness’ and future progress.

Jack and Jill Pre-School have three rooms providing age appropriate resources and activities;
The Nest is a dedicated room and outside classroom for babies from 6 months to two years old, with a staff ratio of 1:3.
The Little Ark is a dedicated room and outside classroom for two to three year olds, with a staff ratio of 1:4.
The Ark is a dedicated room and outside classroom for three and four year olds, with a staff ratio of 1:8.
- All rooms have an individual team of staff which include a Childcare Lead and a Deputy.
- There is always a SENCo, a Designated Safeguarding Lead, a Fire Warden and a Manager on site.
- All staff are trained in Paediatric First Aid.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include;
- Motivate and stimulate children’s learning and development in the Ark in line with Outstanding practice
- Provide care and offer an appropriate level of support to children, providing them with a secure and stimulating environment
- Organise and make imaginative use of learning resources
- Assist as Deputy with the overall management of the room in the absence of the Lead
- Liaise and support parent/carers of children
- Be involved and attend Parent Evenings
- Attend Pre-school Management meetings
- Attend EYPS or similar networking meetings (if applicable)
- Together with the Childcare Lead and MD plan, implement and review the curriculum within the EYFS
- Work as a Key Person and maintain children’s Learning Diaries in the Ark
- Liaise with outside agencies in relation to Key children
- Effectively supporting the Childcare Lead and staff team
- Role model professional qualities to all other staff
- In the absence of the Childcare Lead, lead staff planning and key person meetings in the Ark
- In the absence of the Childcare Lead, be responsible for the supervision of staff, trainees and volunteers with, offering support and guidance.
- In the absence of the Childcare Lead, be involved in staff recruitment and line management
- Ensure the health and safety of all children and staff are maintained, acting appropriately in an emergency situation ensuring that the safety and well being of the children is paramount at all times
- In the absence of the MD, Deputy Manager and childcare Lead, ensure all security and safety systems are operational
- Comply with all OFSTED requirements
- Implement policies and procedures of the Pre-school
- Develop the Pre-school free from prejudice and without discrimination in line with equal opportunities and current legislation
- Create a stimulating and happy learning environment
- Develop and maintain the Pre-school high standard of care in line with Best Practice
Requirements;
- Qualified at Level 3 in Early Years
- GCSE’s A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills
- Previous experience of working with under 5’s
- Knowledge and experience of EYFS
- Lead confidently
- Motivate and inspire staff and children
- Share knowledge with staff and lead by example
- Plan and schedule own work and prioritise
- Be creative and imaginative whilst creating a stimulating environment
- Work on own initiative and meet deadlines
- Delegate to team members and work as a team
- Manage pressure and prioritise tasks
- Strong organisational skills
- Flexibility on working arrangements i.e. sick/holiday cover
- Reliability and honesty
- A good standard of personal presentation
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written
- Tact, discretion and respect confidentiality
- To have a sense of fun
Desirable Requirements;
- Previous experience in a Lead role
- Current Paediatric First Aid
- Enhanced DBS
Hours;
- Jack and Jill Pre-School offer a day nursery provision running from 07:45-17:45 on an all year round basis.
- The candidate would be expected to work a 38-40 hours per week with varied working patterns.
