Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship - Ringwood Day Nursery.
The Aspire Training Team are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship at Ringwood Day Nursery.
Our primary focus is to provide day care of the highest quality for both local families and those from a wider area.
We intend to do this by:
- Providing a safe, homely, fun and inspiring environment filled with enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable staff
- Planning experiences that are child centred and respect each child’s individual needs and interests
- Planning experiences in the day nursery that are fun, dynamic and appropriate to the individual children.
- Establish a partnership with parents, supporting them and acknowledging them as the first educators of their child
- Providing our youngest children with an environment that is warm, safe and stable and that will stimulate and nurture their individual needs
Your roles and responsibilities will include;
- Primary activities will be to work directly with the children in all areas of the Nursery and as directed by the manager or room supervisor with any age group within the Nursery.
- participate in implementing a full curriculum, providing activities which actively promote children’s development and are stimulating, varied and fun, through the direction of the room supervisor.
- Being aware of the individual needs of the children and strive to meet these needs within the Nursery provision.
- Promote a positive sense of racial and cultural identity, understanding, respecting, and sharing ethnic and cultural differences. Ensuring all activities reflect positively the linguistic, religious, and cultural diversity of the community and equality on gender, race, and culture.
- Being vigilant at all times regarding the physical and emotional welfare and security of all children, bringing to the attention of the Nursery Nurses, Room Supervisor, Deputy or Nursery Manager, anything about a child that gives cause for concern
- Implement Health and Safety routines and report any safety or health hazard immediately. Ensure that the children are attended at all times.
- Maintain current certificates as appropriate, i.e. First aid, food handling.
- Undertake certain domestic tasks as required, i.e. preparing, and serving food, cleaning of equipment.
- Maintain the highest professional standards at all times, in your contact with the children, parents, visitors and other staff.
- Keep confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other members of staff which is learnt as part of your responsibilities.
- Engage positively in the staff team.
- Implement all Nursery Policies, procedures and practices and adhere to the standards and principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Carry out any further tasks as and when directed by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager
Requirements;
- You must be able to gain a clear DBS
- GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent are desired
Hours;
- Ringwood Day Nursery are open from 07:00-18:00 Monday to Friday, all year round
- The successful candidate will be required to work 38.75 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed
