Nursery Practitioner - Level 2

Pelican Place Day Nursery

Salary: £23,795.20 per annum

Pelican Place Nursery, located on Collingwood Road, Witham, are looking for a Level 2 Practitioner to join the team in either the Dolphins room (2.5-3.5 years old) or the Sea Turtles room (3-5 year old) on a permanent basis. This room has up to 12 children a day and you will be joining a team that is committed to providing excellent childcare in a friendly, welcoming and secure surrounding.

Pelican Place Nursery is located in the town centre of Witham which has fantastic public transport links. There is a bus stop located opposite the nursery and the train station is just a short 8 minute walk away.

The nursery is open from 8:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday and you would be required to work shifts between these times, 40 hours per week. 

Nursery Practitioner main duties and responsibilities*:

• Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
• Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.
• Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.
• Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
• Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.
• Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
• Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.

Requirements and skills:

• Full and relevant Level 2 childcare qualification – essential
• Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
• Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
• Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
