Childcare Apprenticeship – Level 3 – Sixpenny Handley First School

The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Sixpenny Handley First School as a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice in September 2024

We aim to provide high quality child-led learning experiences for children aged 2-4 years. 

Our environment encourages children to explore their surroundings and make connections with an emphasis on nurturing our key values: Curiosity, Awe and Wonder in all that we do.

We place the utmost importance on providing an engaging, safe and happy environment where play is at the heart of all we do. Our children lead their learning journeys through their own explorations and our dedicated Nursery teachers support each child through tailored invitations to play with timely adult directed moments. Our daily 'Together Times', provide opportunities for singing, storytelling, sharing and celebrations, where children thrive in a familiar, caring and secure circle of friendship.

We are spoilt with our beautiful surroundings which we utilise all year round encouraging our children to engage fully with their environment - wellies and waterproofs are a must!!

This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Level 3 Childcare apprenticeship within a friendly team at a fantastic setting.

Your roles and responsibilities will include;

• Carry out planned activities and attend meetings
• Assist in contribute to planning of curriculum
• Keep records as directed by line manager
• Read discuss implement of all policies
• Promote safeguarding and the welfare of young people in line with policies
• Have some understanding of child development and how children learn
• Work cooperatively with staff team and parents
• Undertaking all aspects of personal care
• Food preparation and mealtimes
• General housekeeping duties
• Commitments towards further training and development

Requirements;

• You must be able to obtain a clear DBS
• Good standard of English and Maths

Hours;

• Sixpenny Handley First School are a term time only setting
• You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with shift patterns that vary between the settings opening times of08:30-15:30, Monday-Friday.
