Forest School Lead

40 hours per week

Small People Nursery are looking for a Forest School Lead to join their team. This role will be predominantly working outside in the Forest School establishing routines and boundaries to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the children. There will be an expectation to liaise with the team about the children’s learning, development, and curiosities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop the nurseries existing outdoor learning provision
  • Ignite a love of the outdoors with the children
  • Leader and implement good practice across the EYFS
  • Support and mentor team members
  • Role model skills and behaviours that safeguard and promote good outcomes
  • Create engaging learning opportunities through forest school sessions  
  • Complete risk assessments
  • Provide high standards of children and education including monitoring and always reviewing the provision

Requirements:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Forest School qualification
  • Outdoor First Aid certificate
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Over 2 year’s experience working in Early Years
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements
  • Be happy to work outdoors and have a can do attitude
