LEVEL 3+ EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONERS
Job Description
We are looking to recruit level 3 and over nursery practitioners to join our team at Ghanshyam Nursery School on a full time and permanent basis, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
The nursery practitioner’s roles & responsibilities are as follows:
· To contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team members;
· To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life;
· Engage in good team working;
· Liaise with and support parents and other family members;
· To attend out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents evening, events;
· To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc;
· Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery’s philosophy is fulfilled;
· Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager;
· Recording accidents in the accident book. Ensure the Manager has initialled the report before the parent receives it;
· Look upon the nursery as a "whole" where can you help be most utilised? Be constantly aware of the individual needs of all children;
· Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the child;
· To respect the confidentiality of all information received.

We are looking for enthusiastic and professional candidates with the following attributes:
1. A recognised childcare/early years qualification at a Level 3 minimum (or equivalent), for example this may be BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma or NVQ.
2. Previous early years’ experience in a nursery setting in the UK required.
3. You will be able to demonstrate good knowledge of the EYFS.
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000.00 per year.

Ghanshyam Nursery School was established in 2001 after the temple purchased the Education Building (Computer House) with the aim to provide facilities to the community including educational development.
We provide care and education for young children between the ages of 18 months to 5 years. English is spoken as the first language, with Gujarati being spoken as a second language.
We are Ofsted Registered (Number EY408297) and accept children from 18 months – 5 years. Our hours of opening are 8:00am to 5:00pm and we provide a mixture of warm vegetarian meals cooked on the premises.
The nursery is open for approximately 51 weeks of the year. We close for the Hindu New Year (Ankoot) for one day (If it falls over the weekdays) and for the period between Christmas and New Year.
The fees are payable monthly in advance and apply even when children are sick, absent or on holidays.
We are a member of the Early Years Partnership and offer Council funding, where available, for 2, 3 & 4 year olds. We also accept Child Care Vouchers as part of the salary sacrifice scheme from parents.

The school equipment and furniture has been purchased with the educational needs of the children in mind; such that they can develop and explore their environment according to ability and age. We offer a warm secure environment that allows each child to develop at their own pace. The outside equipped play area is an added attraction.
The Board of Governors (BOG), manages the school under the guidance of the Temple Trustees and the Managing Committee and are elected by the Temple Committee annually. They are the proprietors. They are responsible for managing the finances, managing the staff and ensure that the school implements policies, which help it to provide a high-quality service.
