We are a unique, privately owned children’s day nursery and holiday club, first opened in January 1995. Originally established as a sole trader, we became a limited company in 2007 and continue to operate as a family-run business, now alongside the owner’s three children.
Toad Hall Nursery is set in two acres of beautiful farmland, we provide children with a safe, natural, and stimulating environment where they can thrive through play and exploration.

At Toad Hall Nursery, we set exceptionally high standards for our staff, ensuring they are are trained and working to the recommended Ofsted staff-to-child ratios:
Under 2s: 1:3
Over 2s: 1:5
Over 3s: 1:8

Your duties and responsibilities will include;
- Child Development & Learning
- Promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children aged 0-5
- Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress to inform planning and support individual needs
- Safeguarding & Child Welfare
- Ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all children
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with statutory guidance
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection policies
- Inclusion & Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Support children with additional needs, ensuring inclusive access to learning opportunities
- Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to implement tailored support strategies
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive practices throughout the setting
- Partnership with Parents & Carers
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families and carers
- Communicate regularly regarding children’s development, achievements, and well-being
- Encourage parental involvement in the learning process and setting activities
- Professional Conduct & Team Collaboration
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive and professional environment
- Mentor and support junior staff and apprentices
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
Requirements;
- A Level 3 Childcare qualification is essential
- Must have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent
- Experience in a room leader position preferable
Hours;
- Toad Hall Nursery is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
- The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week
