Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship – Arc Pre-School (Term Time Only)

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship at Arc Pre-School, Slough.

About Us

We are an Ofsted approved, privately owned childcare provider located at the Britwell Youth and Community centre.

​We cater for families with children who are pre-school age up to the age of 4 and we're open term time only.

Our approach to teaching is very much lead by the child.

We work on the basis of having teacher directed and child initiated learning in order to get a balance of what is needed at a particular moment. We endeavour to tailor the teaching
and curriculum to meet the needs of the child or a group of children.
Our activities are fun and are designed to gently challenge learning for all children in a number of different ways. This may be through:

• Supporting and modelling communication and language
• Introduce and use of new vocabulary
• Add narrative to play
• Support interactions
• Model behavioural expectations
• Scaffolding learning
• Demonstrating the “how to”
• Planning next steps through observation

Our approach is flexible and a number of pedagogies are used.
Arc Pre School basis its Curriculum on the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and offer a wide range of educational programmes that formulate the curriculum mentioned above.

Our educational programmes is flexible and offer a blended pedagogy in the 7 areas of learning. These are broken down into Prime areas and Specific areas

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

• All aspects of childcare, you will work towards becoming a key person.
• You will be supporting key members of the team with all aspects of caring for small children, must have a good understanding about Safeguarding and keeping the children safe.
• You will be involved in planning activities, implementing these and setting up the room and the daily tasks, you will also be expected to set up the room and tidy away at the end of the day.
• You will assist mealtimes and all aspects of personal care including toileting and nappy changing,
• To build confidence you will meet and greet with the parents and participate in parent partnership events.

Requirements;

• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them
• You must be able to gain a clear DBS

Hours;

• Arc Pre-School is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
• The successful candidate will be required to work 25 hours per week - Patterns to be discussed
